14th International WSV Symposium on Victimology
Dear ICPA Members,
I would like to inform you about the 14th International WSV Symposium on Victimology, which may be interesting for you and your colleagues. At the symposium, victimology scholars, researchers, practitioners, teachers, and students from around the world are examining and discussing current and emerging issues in the field of Victimology. Among the participants are lawyers, psychologists, sociologists, economists, psychiatrists, various national and international organisations concerned with victimisation, public officials, policy makers and politicians. The symposium takes place from 20–24 May in The Hague, The Netherlands. One-day registration is also possible. Some examples of confirmed topics during the symposium:
• Several topics relating to national victim policies, European and international influences on victim policies and legislation, panels on specific measures for vulnerable victims, workshops on victims of trafficking in human beings, victims of terrorism.
• Several topics on transitional justice, victims of massive human rights violations, providing reparations to victims.
• Several topics on adequate interventions for victims of crime, violence against psychiatric patients, trauma recovery therapies.
