ICPA 14th Annual Conference

Future Conferences

This year, the ICPA Annual Conference returns to Europe. It is five years since the Association held its last conference on European soil. The conference coincides with Belgium, our host country, holding the Presidency of the European Union (EU).
Attached to the conference will be several other events: a joint EU/Belgian Prison Service conference on e-learning; a pre-conference workshop in collaboration with the African Correctional Services association on Correctional leadership and a UNDPKO Conference on peacekeeping. This represents a truly exciting programme of events and details will be posted as they emerge on the website.
However, members may also with to note that plans are already well in hand for the 2011 Annual Conference which will held in collaboration with the Singapore Prison Service (SPS). The conference will move from its now traditional final week in October slot to 11-16 September 2011. The reason for this is to coincide with the much celebrated SPS “Yellow Ribbon Project”. The conference theme will be: “Unlocking the Second Prison”.
For those wishing to make plans beyond 2011, the 2012 Conference will be held in Mexico; the 2013 Conference will take place in Colorado, USA and in 2014 we will hold our annual conference in Africa in conjunction with the African Correctional Services Association (ACSA). The timings for both these conferences will revert to the last week in October.
