CSAC Women Offenders Conference 2009
Auckland, New Zealand
Registrations are now open for the CSAC Women Offenders Conference 2009 to be held in Auckland, New Zealand from Wednesday 2 December to Friday 4 December 2009.
This year the New Zealand Department of Corrections will host this prestigious conference, to be held in the beautiful city of Auckland, New Zealand from Wednesday 2 December until Friday 4 December 2009.
The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Custody to community – a journey planned’. The conference will explore in detail the journey of women offenders through the criminal justice system and will provide an opportunity to share knowledge, initiate debate and discuss the challenges associated with the management of this unique group of offenders.
Highlights of the exciting programme include key note speeches from international experts, government leaders and workshops that will examine in detail some of the issues associated with the rehabilitation and reintegration of women offenders. Of particular attraction is Lauren Roche who will delight us at the Conference dinner. Dr Lauren Roche is a successful author of an international bestseller. Her autobiography, Bent Not Broken, tells of her turbulent childhood and adolescence, her years as a prostitute and stripper, before turning her life around to become a physician today.
