"Repairing the Harm - How restorative practices can benefit victims and communities while addressing the harm caused by offenders"

The conference will explore the various applications of restorative practices and mediation and their benefits for victims, our communities and society in contemporary Scotland.

The conference will focus on:
- Identifying best practice in the provision of restorative practices
- Exploring the difference between mediation and restorative practice
- Highlighting the benefits of restorative practices to those harmed by offending
- Considering the need for a change in how we meet victims” needs and deal with
the consequences of offending
- The role of Restorative Practices in combating recidivism.

The conference will be chaired by The Rt Hon., The Lord Cullen of Whitekirk KT and speakers will include Frank Mulholland QC, Solicitor General for Scotland, Ivo Aertsen, Professor at K.U. Lueven Institute of Criminology and Susan Gallagher, Director of Development, Victim Support Scotland.
